What You Need To Do Before Going Out On A Hike

By Warren Hayiltonn

Your back pack is the first most important item in your things. Its all about space and comfort. First among all other items that you should put in your list is a first aid kit. It's your first line of defense against minor injuries that you might acquire. Never forget that tiny whistle that can do a lot of thinks

The next items in your backpack are processed food and water. Water is essential for basic survival. Processed food works well since you do not need to refrigerate it. Water purification tablets are small, handy and can be brought by the numbers.

After food and water, secure your miscellaneous things like flashlights, caps, raincoats, rainmakers and towels. Trusty pocket knives are really important since you wouldn't want to end up like a caveman polishing stones against each other. Secure your tent afterwards. If you get stranded, your tent will be your safe place at night. Along with your tent is your sleeping bag.

And of course, a compass and a map are very important. You need to know how to read a compass to and read a map so you wouldn't get lost. But if using a compass is too obsolete for you, try some handheld GPS navigators. But do you see how Richard looks. Read for yourself Garmin 205 reviews and Garmin 305 reviews.

You need to know how to forage for food. You need to learn what type greeneries you have. There are basic foraging skills to help you identify which wild roots, stems and leaves are edible. The best protection that you can have against wildlife is learn how not to engage them. Bonfires will provide you security at night. Get some dry leaves and sticks and rub the sticks as fast as you could.. Gather enough speed to create a spark. This is how you can build a fire in the woods. But if you have a flint with you, it could make things a whole lot easier.
